What I Learned at Parent's Evening

My friends! Welcome once again to what is rapidly moving away from being and interesting and entertaining look into the life of an atypical youth and is instead becoming a form of free therapy for myself. But anyway, I trust we are feeling well, good and at least a little cheerful, if tired. I must apologise if any of this seems slightly disjointed, for you see I am listening to The Coroner's Gambit by The Mountain Goats, a band who has the capacity to make me want to sing at the top of my voice and play guitar (that I don't know how to do). My initial thoughts are that it is like most of their work frickin' awesome but it does mean that I'm sort of zoning in and out.

Moving on, I tell you now that I've had an extremely hectic day. In Drama the Little Ones (lower school) were doing their all day drama workshop, meaning that both our teachers were unavailable to take the lesson so we were let loose to continue our piece in any classroom we could find. We ended up beginning the script for our first scene. In Biology we, say it with me now, "continued work on our coursework". In English Literature we started working on researching the books we've chosen. I'm convinced now that I'm doing Nineteen Eighty-Four in combination with The Handmaid's Tale. In English Language I learned about different styles of language that I won't bore you with the details of.

I also had a Parent's Evening, which is always something I dread as I know how lazy I am and how I should work harder, which is precisely what they said, only in nicer terms. I think I may have turned over a new leaf, now with my organisation but then I think that quite often, but maybe this time it is. I often have difficulties seeing the little picture (it's one of my many faults that I am currently categorizing in my mind) meaning that I'll often start a new plan of action that will span an entire year which will put me in a good frame of mind but then forget that doing that is only half, and then the easiest half, of the battle. The other half is actually doing it, day by day, something that I'm not very good at. But I suppose it's just something I'm going to have to do if I want to get over this particular flaw in my character.

Sorry, folks! Didn't mean to get all introspective on you there! Talk about cheap therapy or what. Anyway, I'm sure I've bored you enough, so goodbye!

PS I finished listening to The Coroner's Gambit: It was kickass.
